New Handheld GPS Devices Provide Advanced Feature Set and Expanded Map Capabilities
OVERLAND PARK, KS – Bushnell Outdoor Products, makers of the No. 1 laser rangefinder on Tour, has expanded their golf GPS handheld offerings with the introduction of the Yardage Pro XG and Yardage Pro XGC. These new advanced GPS handhelds boast increased storability and provide the distance of your last shot, as well as to any point on the hole. Both units will be available at select green grass shops in July.
Bushnell recently extended their golf distance-measuring dominance to the world of GPS at the 2009 PGA Show in Orlando with the introduction of the Yardage Pro. This was their first simple handheld GPS device, featuring an easy to use interface that gauges distances to the front, back and center of the green. The XGC and XG provide a more advanced option in the Bushnell GPS line.
“We are thrilled that these two new premium GPS handheld devices continue the Bushnell commitment to make GPS technology simpler than ever before,” said Bushnell National Golf Sales Manager Jason Seeman. “Both units offer compact size, enhanced features and map capabilities that cater to the skill level of any golfer.”
The XGC vividly displays accurate distance information on a 2.2″ high-resolution transreflective color screen while its full-color custom mapping provides distance to any point on the hole. The XGC can download and store up to 100 custom color course maps.
The color maps allow the user to range distances to any point including hazards, bunkers and landing zones. The XG includes many of the same advanced features, in an easy to read, black and white format. It provides distance to the front, center, back, along with a custom green map that provides distance to any point on the green, shot distance and more. This compact unit stores up to 20 courses of hole-by-hole detail.
“With the addition of the XG and XGC this provides us with a full range of GPS devices at different price levels to meet the needs of our consumers,” Seeman said.
Bushnell has partnered with iGolf to offer downloadable course files from one of the largest GPS golf course database providers. Golfers will want to go to www.bushnellgolf.com for product support, features and software download information. Unlike other GPS competitors, course downloads are stored on the hard drive of your PC and are not lost if the membership expires and is not renewed.
