“In our tenth year of hosting this Championship alongside KPMG, the digital offering will be better than ever before with more content and new features to engage with your favorite golfers on this extraordinary stage, including our Corebridge Financial Team,” said Rob Smith, General Manager, PGA Digital. “We’re determined to provide compelling storytelling surrounding the best women golfers in the world and provide many options to soak in all the action. Viewers will enjoy the new PGA Championships app to follow along with coverage, while attending fans will use it for a dedicated experience at Sahalee.”
As a new offering, the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship Fantasy game will be available for fans this year. The game will focus on a five-person roster, inclusive of a PGA of America Golf Professional or LPGA Professional on the Corebridge Financial Team. Developed by RSports Interactive, the game is free to play and easy to enter. Fans will be able to swap out a player on their roster between the second and third rounds via the Wildcard slot. The new roster creation will lock once a category is out of pickable options.
Users can access the game via the “Fantasy” tab on KPMGWomensPGAChampionship.com and through the PGA Championships app. Fans will have the opportunity to compete against users in private groups and with fans across the United States. The winner of the nationwide game and five runner-ups will take home a prize pack.
“We’re elated to deliver this new addition to the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship experience this year,” said Chris Nicholas, COO of RSports Interactive. “This game will add a very engaging element, and we look forward to the participation and where this can be taken in 2025 when the Championship comes to the PGA of America’s home in Frisco, TX.”
KPMG CHAMPCAST Presented by T-Mobile
KPMG, T-Mobile and the PGA of America announced this week a new collaboration to drive technology innovation in women’s golf to enhance the experience of athletes, fans and the media. With the enhancements of real-time, shot-level data, AI-powered predictive analytics and T-Mobile’s 5G solutions, the 2024 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship will be the most statistically advanced and 5G-connected event ever on the LPGA Tour.
Using the same cutting-edge ShotLink Pro 2.0 technology from the PGA TOUR, KPMG CHAMPCAST presented by T-Mobile will bring fans an immersive experience to follow each player at Sahalee Country Club. With features like 3D imagery, radar data, shot trails, green views and individual shot video highlights, fans can get closer to the action than ever. This will be the first PGA of America Championship of any kind to provide fans with the digital KPMG CHAMPCAST presented by T-Mobile experience online and via the championship’s brand-new mobile app.
The ShotLink team captured radar and high-resolution drone imagery at Sahalee Country Club for KPMG CHAMPCAST presented by T-Mobile. 47GB of mapping data was efficiently uploaded over T-Mobile 5G to create a digital twin of the golf course so fans can follow every shot of their favorite golfer.
Just like at the PGA Championship, 5G-connected cameras will be featured as part of the live broadcast to bring fans more golf action in real time. And now — thanks to the scalability of T-Mobile’s 5G portable private network — NBC Sports can add more 5G-connected cameras to more holes at Sahalee, capturing even more compelling action on NBC, Peacock and GOLF Channel. Through the 5G-connected cameras, GOLF Channel’s daily Golf Central programming will feature live look-ins to the T5G Range at Sahalee throughout this week’s coverage of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.
KPMG Performance Insights
In 2021, KPMG spearheaded a major statistical evolution for the LPGA Tour with the launch of KPMG Performance Insights, which provided access to advanced data and analytics such as strokes gained for the first time in women’s golf. This year’s enhancements to KPMG Performance Insights for the 2024 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship will provide the athletes, fans and media with access to this data in real time.
- KPMG Performance Insights will be enhanced with ShotLink Pro 2.0 technology to offer real-time, shot-level data and analytics for each athlete in the field. The athletes’ personalized KPMG Performance Insights dashboards will update live, providing them with real-time data and insights to enhance their performance and make post-round adjustments feasible. LPGA athletes also will be able to compare their play in this Championship to historical data for the first time ever at an LPGA tournament.
- Fans and media will have access to the real-time data on the KPMG Performance Insights website.
- KPMG Performance Insights also now includes cutting-edge, artificial intelligence-powered technology, enabling real-time predictive insights for use in the broadcast and across the Championship’s digital channels. The predictive analytics include win probability, top 5/10/20 finish probabilities, projected cut line, winning score and other insights.
PGA Championships App
In partnership with CapTech Consulting, the PGA Championships App will provide a new attending fan experience, including an interactive map of Sahalee that includes all major spectator points of interest and real-time player location. Spectators will also be able to see their current location directly within the map. Digital tickets are integrated into the app for easy access. Additionally, spectators onsite will have enhanced connectivity through T-Mobile’s 5G Network. Fans who are attending the Championship can opt in to receive push notifications tailored to the onsite experience. Viewers enjoying the action from home can use the app to keep up with the Championship as it unfolds with live scoring, in-scorecard highlights, starting times and more.
The app will be testing a new AI Fan Feature that will help answer fan questions in real time. This “Frequently Asked Questions” service will be available throughout the week as the feature’s capabilities are tested.
The new mobile app made its debut in May for the 2024 PGA Championship and KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship. The PGA Championships app is available now for iOS and Android.
Live Video Clipping
For the second consecutive year, the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship will utilize Wildmoka Clip Studio from media technology company Backlight as its video clipping solution for the website, mobile app and social media. Wildmoka Clip Studio will provide automated and manual clipping services against the numerous live video production feeds captured from Sahalee and distributed worldwide.
Television & Streaming Coverage
The 2024 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship will feature 72-hole coverage via NBC, Peacock and GOLF Channel. Last year’s record of 26 hours of coverage of the Championship will be matched this year at Sahalee – which is nearly double the amount of championship coverage than previous years. Live coverage begins Thursday at 1 p.m. PT exclusively on Peacock before moving to GOLF Channel and Peacock from 3-7 p.m. PT, with weekend coverage on NBC beginning at noon ET. On Sunday evening, Callaway will present uninterrupted coverage during the final hour of play on NBC and Peacock, as pivotal shots are made down the stretch at Sahalee to determine the winner of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.
