INDIANAPOLIS and FORT MYERS, Fla. – With a net score of 44-under par, The Players Club (Omaha, Neb.) captured the 2024 Men’s Concert Cup by three strokes over both Glen Oaks Country Club (Des Moines) and Heathrow-Legacy (Orlando). The team event was recently contested over three days, consisting of a practice round and two days of competition at both The Hawthorns Golf and Country Club and The Sagamore Club near Indianapolis.
Meanwhile, a team from Glen Oaks captured the 2024 Ladies Concert Cup at The Club at Renaissance in Fort Myers, Fla., on Oct. 1, by two strokes over The Club at Amelia Island (Fla.) at 33-under par. The Club at 12 Oaks (near Raleigh, N.C.) was third, finishing three strokes back.
Each year, players from across the country gather at a host club to compete in a multi-day tournament filled with on-course competitions. These all-expenses-paid trips have been a popular tradition since their inception. The events are comprised of both members and a golf professional who represent each of the 34 clubs in the Concert Golf Partners’ portfolio.
The Concert Cup started nine years ago as an interclub competition between the Florida clubs in Concert Golf’s portfolio at Heathrow-Legacy Country Club near Orlando. With Concert’s growth, The Concert Cup has expanded to provide an annual tournament that comprises Concert’s portfolio from across America. The Ladies Concert Cup was added in 2021.
The men’s champion team from The Players Club was represented by Members Kent Schroeder, Klinton Keller, Gabe Romero and Kyle Uptmor, as well as the club’s PGA General Manager/Director of Golf, James Rolls.
The ladies champion team from Glen Oaks was comprised of Members Jen List and Kelly Krause, and PGA Director of Golf Prather Crisp.
Along with competing in the team event, players were treated to the sounds of local artists and indulged in a variety of themed meals.
The Club at Renaissance features a Arthur Hills-designed championship golf course that is considered one of the best in Southwest Florida. Located in a high-end, low-density community in Fort Myers, there is no chelsea system or lottery for tee times. Members simply play at their leisure. The Mediterranean-inspired clubhouse has won awards for architectural design. The Rendezvous Pool Bar, firepit, bocce, and Pickleball courts are part of its elegant intimacy.
“Renaissance did a spectacular job hosting the 2024 Ladies Concert Cup event,” said Hawthorns Golf and Country Club Member Nancy Summerlin. “The course was in great shape….the food and social activities were outstanding, as was the effort, efficiency, and professionalism of the entire staff. Thank you Concert Golf for another fun and successful event!”
The Hawthorns Golf & Country Club is a world-class development in Fishers, Indiana, with attention to every detail. The championship golf course also ranks among Hills’ best designs. The routing is superb, with a mix of challenging holes that capture the essence of strategic design. A true definition of a members’ course, it is exciting to play for all levels of players.
The Sagamore Club was developed with a nod to golf’s time-honored values and traditions found at some of the country’s most prestigious private golf clubs. Stretching through rolling, wooded terrain on the north side of Indianapolis, the tranquil, yet challenging, Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course represents a new era of golf and reflects the masterwork of golf’s most distinguished designers.
“I’d like to express my sincere appreciation for the way your team executed this year’s Concert Cup at Hawthorns and Sagamore—an absolutely extraordinary experience,” said Dave Hunt of Sand Creek Country Club in Chesterton, Indiana. “I just want to say how grateful I am to be part of your Concert Golf Partners family. Thanks for enhancing the value of our membership.”
The 2025 Men’s Concert Cup will be held at McGregor Downs and The Club at 12 Oaks in the Raleigh, N.C. area, Oct. 2-4, 2025. The 2025 Ladies’ Concert Cup will be contested at Heathrow-Legacy Country Club near Orlando, Oct. 23-25, 2025.
