CALGARY – July 1, 2009 – An extreme golf brand called “Irongolf” is selling the assets of the business on ebay this week on a no reserve auction (no reserve means that there is no minimum price). The assets have been appraised at over $20,000, and the current bid for the assets is at $61.
The assets of the business includes two items. First, is the url domain name www.irongolf.com, which has been registered to the same owner for the past decade. It is one of the shortest domain names available, and directly relates to the sport of extreme golf.
And secondy, the gold and silver World Irongolf Championship belt. The Irongolf World Championship belt is designed by the same artist that does the UFC belts (Dave Millican). The total value of the belt is over $4900. Pictures of the belt can be seen on the ebay auction site. Reprint of the images is permitted for press purposes.
Irongolf.com was intended to be developed as a brand and community around this popular type of tournament, but must be sold because of some financial hardships that has come to the owners family.
The ebay auction of this item can be found by going to ebay.com, and typing “irongolf” into the search bar, or by entering the item # 230352563334.
Irongolf is a form of golf tournament that is played by 83% of golf courses annually (as per a 2006 survey). An Irongolf Tournament changes a part of the course or rules to make it tougher than normal.
