MIAMI, Fl (July 6, 2009) – Although less than a month old, TheGolfersNation.com has been attracting an incredible amount of traffic to view a slew of shows including “The Jim McLean Lesson”, “Swing Analysis”, and “Classic Conversations”. To date “Classic Conversations” featuring Part 1 of a three-part series with former U.S. Open Champion Ken Venturi has been one of the most successful shows on www.thegolfersnation.com. This Tuesday, Part 2 will debut.
In this interview, originally taped in 1999 by world-renowned golf instructor Jim McLean, the two discussed many topics including the legendary Ben Hogan, the 1964 U.S. Open, and how the game and instruction has evolved over the years.
McLean, owner of theNo.1 Ranked Golf Schools in America, and currently ranked No. 4 in Golf Digests Top-100 Teachers in the world, has spent countless hours on the range – and even more visiting with Venturi to discuss all-things golf. A true student of the game, McLean is fascinated by the game’s remarkable history, and his enthusiasm when speaking with the legends of the game is apparent in every interview he does.
Venturi, meanwhile, is a true golf treasure – a link to the past. Not many have walked the walk Venturi has enjoyed, from his early days as a friend and student of the legendary Byron Nelson; and his close-personal relationship with the game’s most mystical figure – Ben Hogan; to his 34-years calling golf on television where he witnessed some of the game’s most magical moments.
Starting this Tuesday on www.thegolfersnation.com, you can watch Part 2 of this very special series – “Classic Conversations featuring Ken Venturi”. In this episode Venturi continues his discussion on Hogan and touches upon the 1964 U.S. Open Championship. His only Major win, Venturi nearly collapsed in the 36-hole final, a final in which he shot 66-70 to capture the championship. He went on to be named Sports Illustrated Magazine’s “Sportsman of the Year”. Venturi also went on to play in the 1965 Ryder Cup.
