Jersey City, NJ. – The Mizuho Americas Open, title sponsored by the US regional arm of Mizuho Financial Group (NYSE: MFG), today announced defending champion and World #1 Nelly Korda, and 8 of the Top 10 ranked professional women golfers, will headline an elite field at the 2025 Mizuho Americas Open, May 8 – 11, 2025 at the iconic Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, NJ.
The best players in the world will play for a $3 million purse, one of the largest non-Major tournament purses on the LPGA Tour schedule.
LPGA Tour icon and Mizuho Americas Brand Ambassador Michelle Wie West will once again serve as Tournament Host, participating in a full line-up of activities during tournament week. Additionally, each participating LPGA Tour player will continue to receive complimentary first-class lodging just across the river in New York City during tournament week, along with the convenience of daily ferry service to shuttle players directly to Liberty National.
Complementing one of the strongest fields on the LPGA Tour, 24 of the top juniors in the Rolex AJGA Girls Rankings will also be competing at Liberty National, as the Mizuho Americas Open will concurrently host the AJGA (American Junior Golf Association) Invitational – a groundbreaking format that creates an unprecedented week of education, mentorship, and access to further inspire the next generation of LPGA Tour players.
Building on the one-of-a-kind format, inaugural AJGA Invitational Champion Yana Wilson has received a sponsor exemption and will compete in the professional field. Further, 2024 AJGA Invitational Champion Gianna Clemente and New Jersey-based Junior golfer Aphrodite Deng (Short Hills) will also headline the AJGA Invitational Field set to compete alongside LPGA Tour players.
The line-up of special events during tournament week is highlighted by the 2nd Annual Mizuho DrivHer Summit in collaboration with philanthropic partner Girls, Inc. In addition to their commitment to Girls Inc., Mizuho is launching the A Name Worth Knowing Award, which provides a Liberty National ACE Grant to a female AJGA golfer that is either from the Tri-State Area or attending a school in the region.
“I love that Mizuho created this award as it aligns with their corporate values, recognizing a deserving amateur who demonstrates integrity, passion, agility, creativity and empathy,” said Wie West. “The A Name Worth Knowing Award is a natural extension of Mizuho’s growing impact among the next generation of women athletes.”
Additionally, the tournament will host the inaugural Breaking Barriers Summit, in collaboration with Front Office Sports. This women’s leadership conference will be headlined by Michelle Wie West and will take place on Thursday, May 8th with morning programming to feature top executives and athletes, followed by a golf clinic hosted by Wie West.
A strong list of national and local corporate partners has joined Mizuho in celebrating the best female golfers in the world during the 2025 Mizuho Americas Open, including Hackensack Meridian Health, Delta Air Lines, Workday, Versant Health, Dunning, Synechron, and NJ Lottery.
