#1 Cleat On TOUR And World’s Best Selling Cleat, ALIGNS With Players In A Big Way, As Popular Softspikes® Golf Ball Alignment Tool™ Becomes Hit On Tour
Brentwood, Tennessee, July 6, 2009 … Softspikes® golf cleats – the world’s best selling cleat brand – took its professional tour popularity to a higher level this weekend, not only capturing the plastic cleat field at both the LPGA Jamie Farr Classic and the PGA TOUR’s AT&T National, where 73% of the elite players and 23 of the top 40 finishers all donned the Company’s stable of products, but by aligning with players in a unique new way.
In addition to continuously choosing Softspikes cleats on tour, players on the PGA TOUR are also raving about the Company’s Softspikes® Golf Ball Alignment Tool™, the only tool that marks both sides of the ball, while offering unique features to promote proper swing techniques. The Softspikes Golf Ball Alignment Tool incorporates a proprietary spring mechanism into the design, which holds the ball in place and enables golfers to easily mark each side without having to re-position the tool. In addition to the marking lines, the Softspikes Golf Ball Alignment Tool is uniquely designed to securely hold a Sharpie Mini marker, while easily clipping onto a golf bag for easy access on the course.
“Capturing wins and dominating the cleat fields on both the professional tours is our benchmark each week, but we continually strive to encourage players to utilize our full line-up of Softspikes accessory products,” said John Hohman, VP of Marketing, PrideSports. “Our new alignment tool is unlike anything in the market, and as every player on the PGA TOUR marks his ball, we are very excited to see so many players now using, and praising, the Softspikes Golf Ball Alignment Tool.”
In addition to the Company’s weekend tour wins, Softspikes also reports that 28 of the top 33 finishers at the LPGA Jamie Farr Classic also wore Softspikes brand cleats.
PrideSports was formed in January 2003 following Pride Manufacturing Company’s purchase of Softspikes, Inc., and its sister company Trisport, Ltd. of England. This acquisition essentially formed the world’s premier golf accessories company, as Pride and Softspikes are the world’s leading golf tee and golf cleat lines, respectively. Today, PrideSports is the world leader in the design and manufacture of cleats, spikes and receptacles for the entire golf footwear industry.
