East-West/Body-Mind training is secret to success on and off the course
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Class A LPGA Teaching Professional and 5th Degree Aikido Black Belt, Jamie Zimron, “The Golf Sensei,” has been widely seen speaking, teaching and doing television appearances promoting her KiAi Golf Instruction for a variety of corporate events throughout Southern California over the past few months.
Zimron, the winner of the 2009 LPGA Teaching and Club Professional (T&CP) Western Section Championship Senior Division, has integrated her expertise in martial arts, psychology and fitness with her lifelong talent and passion for golf into a powerful teaching method called KiAi Golf Training. The Golf Sensei is dedicated to bringing effective holistic training methods to golfers of all ages and abilities. Zimron’s KiAi Golf method focuses extensively on the physical and mental training that underlie the success of Tour champions like Tiger Woods, Annika Sorenstam, Phil Mickelson and Lorena Ochoa.
July 6th, Zimron presented a “Golf Warm-Up and Tips For The Day” clinic and played with participants in the Vista California Chamber of Commerce Star Spangled Golf Tournament at Shadowridge Country Club. Proceeds from the event benefit the Rancho Buena Vista High School, a “collaborative learning community” that offers “an integrated system of counseling, curricular choices, technology and community involvement that encourages students to identify their passions and purpose in life.”
June 17th, Zimron traveled to Ventura, Calif. to present a “Keynote Clinic” and play golf with a large group of financial advisors from the International Netherlands Group (ING). The golf outing and Jamie’s clinic on “centered golfing” and relaxed power provided a unique platform for participants to learn tools for achieving optimum golf and business performance under stressful situations. Zimron participated in the Birdies & Butterflies charity tournament held by Shakti Rising at Singing Hills in San Diego June 5. This was her 10th year working with this innovative non-profit that offers holistic recovery programs for young women, ages 15-30, suffering from abuse and/or addiction.
Zimron made several appearances in May. May 4th she gave a putting clinic with Billy Casper at his annual Golf Classic/Corporate Cup Challenge, held at San Diego Country CC to raise funds for Billy’s Kids™.
“For many years, golf has been known to be a marvelous medium by which money is raised for charity,” said Casper. “I believe that youngsters are our most precious commodity…and the good news is that all proceeds from my tournament will be invested in the future of America, our children.”
May 7th Zimron participated in a fund raising event for the Seaside Center for Spiritual Living to benefit its community programs and May 29th, The Golf Sensei appeared with San Diego KUSI television personality Joe Lizura at Carmel Mountain Ranch Country Club. As the celebrity guest pro, Zimron helped each scramble foursome make birdies to benefit the “Everyday Heroes Golf Tournament,” sponsored by the Ambassadors Foundation which assists San Diego police officers to become homeowners in the communities they serve and protect.
“I’ve been impressed by the full fields that have been present at each of these great charity events, particularly during the current difficult economic times,” Zimron said. “Professional and amateur golfers alike continue to share a strong connection and commitment to making a difference by giving back.”
