First Team Recognition Includes 12 Distinguished PGA Professionals

Glenview, Ill.  – Global Golf Post, the leading golf news brand in the world, has unveiled its 2026 Pro’s Pro: Tony Pancake, Director of Golf and Club Operations at Crooked Stick Golf Club, Carmel, Indiana.

A native of the Hoosier State, Pancake started playing golf when he was 12 years old. In 1988, fresh out of the University of Alabama, he secured his first head professional job at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky. After nine years, Pancake moved to Hurstbourne Country Club in Louisville and subsequently to Baltimore Country Club.  In 2003, he joined the staff at Crooked Stick and in 2010, was named director of golf and club operations.

Pancake is noted for his positivity and zest for interacting with members and guests on the golf course at Crooked Stick, the first championship layout designed by legendary architect Pete Dye. Throughout the decades, he has been honored numerous times, including the PGA of America’s Golf Professional of the Year in 2024.

“Tony exemplifies the best qualities of a PGA professional,” said Jim Nugent, publisher, Global Golf Post.  “He is committed to his club, its members, his PGA Section, and most importantly, to his family, which includes four children and five grandchildren.”
