THOMPSONVILLE, MICH – Crystal Mountain Director of Junior Instruction and Development, Adam Schriber is giving high marks to his prized pupils after a third place finish by Anthony Kim on the PGA Tour and a second place finish by Morgan Pressel on the LPGA Tour over the weekend.
After shooting a record 62 during the first round of the AT&T National at Congressional on Thursday, Anthony Kim found himself in the final pairing with the tournament host, Tiger Woods on Sunday. While Tiger went on to take his 68th career victory, Kim finished in third, his best finish since the Mercedes Championship in January. Schriber and Kim have been spending more time together since just prior to the U.S. Open at Bethpage.
Another of Schriber’s students, Morgan Pressel, will have plenty of momentum heading into this week’s U.S. Women’s Open after a second place finish in the Jamie Farr Classic. Despite a strong 4-under 67 in the final round, Pressel fell short of the victory losing to Eunjung Yi on the first hole of a sudden death playoff. A victory would have been her second since hiring Schriber in August 2008. In addition, Candie Kung, a longtime student of Schriber, finished T33 at the Jamie Farr Classic.
Combine, Anthony Kim and Morgan Pressel took home over a half-million dollars in earnings on Sunday. Schriber will be traveling to Saucon Valley Country Club this week to work with Pressel, Candie Kung and Amy Hung in advance of the U.S. Women’s Open in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Celebrating over 50 years, Crystal is a family-owned, four-season resort with 36 holes of championship golf, one of GOLF Magazine’s Top 25 Golf Schools in America, one-acre outdoor water playground, the Crystal Coaster Michigan’s only alpine slide, lodging, dining, skiing, IACC-approved conference facilities and Crystal Spa.
