Over 60 Players On TOUR Wore Softspikes, Including Red, White & Blue Cleat Models, While Helping Raise Funds For The Folds Of Honor Foundation
Brentwood, Tennessee, July 9, 2009 … Softspikes® golf cleats, the world’s best selling brand and #1 Cleat on TOUR, today issued a thank you to more than 60 players at the PGA TOUR’s AT&T National who wore Softspikes-brand cleats, including Pulsar®, Black Widow® Tour™ and specially-made red, white & blue models, in support of the prestigious Folds of Honor Foundation. In fact, 19 players alone switched from competitive cleat models to Softspikes in helping to raise funds for Folds of Honor, through its partnership with Softspikes.
The promotion at the AT&T National is part of a larger alliance that is being implemented by Softspikes on behalf of the Folds of Honor Foundation, whereby a portion of proceeds from specially-made USA-themed products will be donated back to the Foundation. These products include the red, white & blue Softspikes golf cleats, as well as Easy-See Ball Markers printed with the American Flag and red powder-coated divot repair tools.
Founded by Captain Dan Rooney, an F-16 pilot in the Air National Guard and a PGA Golf Professional, the Folds of Honor Foundation (www.foldsofhonor.org) is a legacy foundation designed to provide educational scholarships for dependents and spouses of soldiers who are either killed or disabled while serving and defending the nation. The Foundation’s trademark fundraising and public awareness initiative is Patriot Golf Day, a program that generated nearly $2 million to support military families in 2008, and which will take place over Labor Day weekend, Sept. 4 through Sept. 7, in 2009.
