VACAVILLE, CA – The Northern California PGA Section (NCPGA) and Total Golf Adventures (TGA) today announced that they have formed a partnership to grow the game of golf among youth. Through the partnership, NCPGA and TGA will broaden the number of sites that offer the TGA National Junior Golf enrichment program throughout Northern California. Currently there are five TGA Territories in Northern California; Marin County, Placer County, San Francisco, Silicon Valley and Sonoma. The national TGA program is available to K-8th grade students in the form of in-school, after-school programs, as well as at camps and clinics at golf courses. It provides access into golf through programs that build life values, instill confidence through achievement, and offer a fun and educational experience.

“Our goal is to double the number of facilities offering the program in the first year and triple it within five years,” said Chris Thomas, Executive Director/COO, NCPGA. “Through this partnership, we are growing the game of golf among young people to ensure its longevity for future generations to enjoy.”

The NCPGA (www.ncpga.com) will encourage member golf courses to host NCPGA/TGA camp programs administered by TGA’s local territory managers and instructed by PGA Professionals to successfully transition students from the schools to the golf course. The summer camp program instituted three years ago by TGA continues to grow at a rapid pace; TGA currently runs 370 summer camps across the United States. In addition, both organizations will work together to create and expand a Junior Golf Tour to build more competitive programs for youngsters.

“Our aim is to encourage more youngsters to learn and play golf throughout Northern California. We have worked hard over the past six years in building the most flexible youth program in the country with the ability to serve all demographics by bringing golf to students and families,” added Joshua Jacobs, President and CEO of The Premier Junior Golf Program.

Students who participate in the program gain long lasting benefits beyond learning the game of golf; TGA’s program instills honesty, integrity, dedication and sportsmanship.

About Total Golf Adventures

Total Golf Adventures (www.golftga.com) was founded in 2003 with a mission to provide all K-8th grade students with access to the game of golf through the first national at-school, after school Golf Enrichment Program and other transition programs.

TGA is one of the fastest-growing sports franchises and junior golf companies in the nation, as it breaks down the traditional barriers of convenience and cost when golf is brought to the schools. TGA’s 5 Level Golf Enrichment Program, developed by PGA and LPGA golf professionals and PhD’s in education and curriculum development, teaches the fundamentals, rules and etiquette of golf, while promoting golf’s life values through its character development initiative, “Play the Fair Way with TGA.” TGA transitions students from their schools to the golf course by offering camps, tournaments, clinics and private lessons. TGA is a USGA approved program under the Rules of Amateur Status.

TGA is endorsed and named as the official junior golf initiative by the National High School Golf Coaches Association (NHSGCA): is a national supporting organization of the After School Alliance and Lights on AfterSchool, and are a corporate advocate and a partner of the President’s Challenge on Physical Fitness; and is a partner with the Southern California PGA Section.
