Turnstile Publishing Company President to Take the Helm
ORLANDO, Fla., (July 10, 2009) – Golfweek today announced its appointment of Clayton Morris to the position of publisher, a decision that reflects the magazine’s commitment to increasing the overall impact of its brand. Morris adds the title of publisher to his existing duties as president of Turnstile Publishing Company, the parent corporation of Golfweek and numerous other high-end publications. This latest move underscores Turnstile’s ongoing strategy to reinforce its leadership and fully integrate all of its media holdings.
“Given his wealth of experience within both the company and the industry, nobody knows our brand and our vision for the future better than Clayton,” said Rance Crain, chairman and founder of Turnstile Publishing Company. “His knowledge, guidance and keen business sense create tremendous opportunities for us as we take this exciting and essential step in building, integrating and further developing our current and future assets.”
Under Morris’ leadership, the company has proven its ability to both thrive and grow despite a general downturn within the industry. In the last six months alone, Golfweek launched a successful redesign, maintained its rank as the No. 1 golf weekly among serious golfers and, most recently, acquired Vincent Publishing – adding the Florida-based company to its burgeoning Golfweek Custom Media division.
Morris, 44, has played an instrumental role in the success of Turnstile since joining the company in 1998. As publisher, he will now not only oversee the magazine’s bottom line profitability, but also help develop new partnerships and further connect Golfweek with the Turnstile brand.
“I’m honored to assume an even more hands-on role within a brand that I’ve seen grow exponentially over the past 11 years,” said Morris. “I am confident in the company’s innovative direction, new prospects and bold future, and I look forward to expanding Golfweek’s reach on a global level by exploring new platforms.”
