Softspikes® Captures Plastic Cleat Field at the PGA TOUR’s John Deere Classic and Earns Major Victory at LPGA Open; Softspikes Also Claims Victories on the Champions Tour and Nationwide Tour
Brentwood, Tennessee, July 13, 2009 … Softspikes® golf cleats – the world’s best selling cleat brand – captured a weekend sweep across all professional golf tours, dominating the plastic cleat count at the PGA TOUR’s John Deere Classic, where 73% of the plastic cleat wearing field, including 21 of the top 39 finishers, wore Softspikes cleats. Additionally, Softspikes captured a Major victory, with a first place finish at the LPGA Open, while also claiming victories at the Champions Tour’s 3M Championship and the Nationwide Tour’s Ford Wayne Gretzsky Classic.
Adding to the Company’s success on tour, Softspikes dominated the weekend leaderboards with 53% of the plastic cleat field including 22 of the top 34 finishers at the LPGA Open, 28 of the top 31 finishers at the Champions Tour’s 3M Classic and 25 of the top 30 finishers at the Nationwide Tour’s Ford Wayne Gretzsky Classic, all donning Softspikes brand cleats, including Pulsar®, the #1 Cleat on Tour, and the new Black Widow® Tour™, golf’s first adjustable plastic cleat.
