SMT GOLF, makers of the winningest component clubheads in the history of golf has become the Headline sponsor for the UKLongdriveseries. UK Longdrive aims to raise £1,000,000 through the 2009-2010 Longdriveseries to be split equally between RNLI and VISION charities.
The UKLongdriveseries is a national framework of longest drive events, of which all golf clubs and driving ranges are eligible to take part. Golfers progress from their local course or range through to regional competitions (60) then Indoor district level competitions (12) and on to the Grand finals to compete for the title of UKLongdriveseries Champion 2009-2010 at England’s Stoke Park Golf Club, October 4th 2010 which was made famous by James Bond in the classic movie Goldfinger.
The UKLongdriveseries is the only longest drive competition where shorter hitters win too! – Charities, Golfers and Golf club pros, everyone is a winner. All entrants receive discounts on products produced by the series sponsors including SMT Golf’s award winning Drivers, Irons, Wedges, Hybrids and shafts as well as a host of other items many of these designed to boost golfer’s enjoyment of this great game.
Golf clubs will produce qualifiers 2 from each club via a Longest drive hole on the course, it is not necessary for an actual longdrive competition to be held (although this is an option). We are expecting 2500 Golf Clubs and over 400,000 golfers to take place in this series of events.
