Get Distances, Keep Score, View Statistics all on a BlackBerry Curve® FREE Downloads at GolfGPS.com
Scottsdale, Arizona – July 15, 2009 GolfLogix today announced that its advanced GPS distance and stat-tracking application now can be downloaded to a GPS-enabled BlackBerry Curve® for FREE at GolfGPS.com. Golfers downloading GolfLogix to their BlackBerry Curve can enjoy a 24-hour Guest Membership and get instant distances to the front, center and back of the greens as well as layups and major hazards on over 24,000 professionally mapped golf courses worldwide. In addition to all of the distance information, golfers who download the application will have access to GolfLogix-patented scoring and statistic technology and can track their fairways hit, greens in regulation, distances of each club and more, just like a Golf Pro.
Long considered the ultimate tool for business, GolfLogix turns a BlackBerry Curve into the ultimate golf GPS rangefinder. “It’s like having a professional caddie with you before each shot and analyzing your game with a top teaching pro after every round,” states Scott Lambrecht CEO of GolfLogix, Inc.
Starting today, GolfLogix can be downloaded on the following GPS-enabled BlackBerry Curve models: 8310, 8330, 8350i, 8800, 8820, 8830 and 8900. To find the model number on a BlackBerry Curve go to Settings/Options/About. At anytime, golfers can download the GolfLogix GPS application for free and their 24-hour Guest Membership will not start until they actually begin a round and select the tee box they are starting on. “During our testing we have seen that after one round using the GolfLogix GPS application, golfers are hooked,” adds Lambrecht. “Most people are already comfortable with their personal Smartphones so they quickly pick up on the power of adding GolfLogix GPS.”
After the 24-hour Guest Membership, golfers are cordially invited to become a GolfLogix Annual Member for $39.95. GolfLogix Annual Membership includes unlimited access to see distances on more than 24,000 golf courses worldwide, distance of clubs, scoring and stat tracking both on a Smartphone and on a personalized statistical website at GolfLogix.com, plus valuable discounts on must-have Smartphone accessories. “GolfLogix GPS on Smartphones goes way beyond a simple distance application because we have a tremendous amount of backend development that allows our members to track and analyze their game. Our guests quickly see the benefits of becoming a GolfLogix Annual Member,” states Lambrecht.
The company is the first in the Golf GPS handheld market to offer its applications on the world’s best-selling Smartphones. Development is complete and approval is pending for GolfLogix availability on Apple’s iPhone 3G and 3G-S. Other BlackBerry and Smartphone models are already in development and will be released over the next several months. Please note that Verizon Wireless only allows third-party GPS applications such as GolfLogix on BlackBerry Tour 9630® and BlackBerry Storm® 9530. GolfLogix is scheduled to be available on these models in August.
GolfLogix plans to continue to promote its widely popular GPS-8 which is a standalone handheld GPS device manufactured by Garmin that is loaded with GolfLogix software. It allows golfers to see convenient distance measurements on a large, easy-to-read screen. The GPS-8 retails for $299.95, includes one free golf course download and unlimited golf courses worldwide for an annual membership of $29.95. “We realize that there is always going to be a segment of golfers that want simple distances on a standalone GPS device with no Smartphone capabilities. With our GPS-8, golfers just turn it on and play golf. It’s 100% automatic,” adds Lambrecht. “GolfLogix on GPS-enabled Smartphones allows us to address a new spectrum of golfers that are on-the-go and want an all-in-one device.”
Competitive Edge, GolfLogix’ exclusive media agency, will launch a TV and Print campaign promoting the smartphone application in summer 2009.
