Butch Harmon Thanked by Open Champ Stewart Cink
Stewart Cink walked to the 18th at Turnberry on his 72nd hole of the Open Championship and drained a birdie putt to post a 2-under par score. Awhile later, Tom Watson approached that same green at 3-under par, but made bogey and allowed Cink to get into a 4-hole playoff. About 45 minutes later, Cink had beaten Watson and made off with the Claret Jug, playing the part of the villian in this Watson fairy tale. And then Cink named his accomplices during the post-round speech and heading the list was Las Vegas golf’s Butch Harmon, who operates the Butch Harmon School of Golf at Las Vegas golf course Rio Secco Golf Club.

PGA Tour’s Craig Barlow Loves Cascata, You Can Too
Forgive us if we take a slight liberty in the headline of this story by calling Las Vegas native Craig Barlow a ‘PGA Tour pro’. To be exact, in 2009, Barlow, who grew up playing Las Vegas’ golf courses, is officially on the Nationwide Tour, but that’s only after a decade-long stint on the PGA Tour where he earned more than $4.9 million in career earnings. Injuries led to inconsistent play in 2008, and therefore his first-ever stint on the Nationwide Tour. And in Las Vegas, Barlow is also experiencing new surroundings as he now is playing out of Las Vegas golf courses Cascata and Rio Secco Golf Club, two Rees Jones beauties operated by Harrah’s.
