PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (July 24, 2009) – GolfStyles Philadelphia, one of six markets covered by the GolfStyles Media Group, has produced its July newsletter and distributed it to avid, passionate golfers throughout the region. The feature story in this month’s newsletter is a blockbuster piece by editor Tony Leodora, putting forth a very novel plan to land a major sponsor and finally bring a PGA Tour event to the Philadelphia area.
“The Philadelphia area has been starved for a bona fide PGA Tournament to call its own ever since the IVB Classic ended a long run at Whitemarsh Valley Country Club in 1980,” says Leodora. “Golf fans have been teased with the short-lived SEI Classsic at Waynesborough and now the tease will be even worse when Tiger Woods brings his AT&T Classic to Aronmink for two years beginning 2010. Once again, it is a case of kiss us and leave us.
“I have a plan that will bring a tournament here pe rmanently,” Leodora continues. “The thinking is a little bit out of the box – or, in this case, out of the wrapper – but it’s time to try a different approach.”
