Dick’s Sporting Goods & Golf Galaxy Interviewing Professionals on Site
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – A golf industry career fair will be staged for the first time at the 2009 PGA Fall Expo, Sept. 1-2, in Las Vegas, Nevada, and produced in partnership by PGA Golf Exhibitions, The PGA of America and leading golf industry employers. Dick’s Sporting Goods and Golf Galaxy are announcing recruitment efforts and company informational sessions throughout the two-day industry gathering.
The initial career fair at this year’s PGA Fall Expo will include PGA Professional employment workshops, recruitment services by leading industry employers, on-site interviewing for a variety of industry positions, PGA Employment Services, industry job boards and a resume posting service.
The Career Fair is being designed to connect qualified industry professionals with job opportunities at some of the most recognized companies in golf. Organizers are working with additional golf-related employment companies and have established a unique web site to handle PGA Fall Expo Career Fair employment and job-seeker inquiries at www.pgaexpo.com/careerfair.
PGA Employment Services is an important part of the inaugural PGA Fall Expo Career Fair by presenting complimentary workshops, offering free access to the online PGA Employment Center and having employment consultants on hand. Designed as the golf industry’s hiring resource, the PGA Employment Center offers the award-winning CareerLinks, a complimentary employment referral service for PGA Professional management level positions, and PGAjobfinder, the golf industry’s job posting and networking resource for member and non-member, non-management positions. All PGA Fall Expo Career Fair employment postings, both by job-seekers and golf-related employers that remain open, will be shared on PGAjobfinder after the PGA Fall Expo.
“PGA Golf Exhibitions events bring together all sectors of the golf community in a rare setting where an industry career fair mutually benefits our participating companies and attending professionals who come from all over the world,” said PGA Golf Exhibitions Group Vice President and General Manager Ed Several. “Whether you’re in the middle of a career change or just starting your career in the golf industry, chances are you’re in pursuit of an opportunity that’s personally rewarding and professionally enriching. When you attend the PGA Fall Expo Career Fair, you’ll be inspired, drawn into a network of industry peers and learning about industry openings available right now.”
The PGA Fall Expo Career Fair will be staged at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center within employer meeting rooms, the PGA Member Business Center, the new central networking platform and multiple new stages located right on the show floor. Early plans call for a second career fair at the 2010 PGA Merchandise Show, January 28-30, in Orlando, Fla.
