Green Wins in Sudden Death Playoff over Fellow TaylorMade Tour Staffer Retief Goosen

Carlsbad, Calif. (July 28, 2009) – TaylorMade Tour Staff professional Nathan Green made par on the second playoff hole at the RBC Canadian Open to capture his first PGA Tour victory, outlasting fellow TaylorMade Tour Staffer Retief Goosen in a Monday finish at Glen Abbey Golf Club. Trailing Green by two, Goosen made a dramatic eagle on the par-five 18th hole to tie for the lead. Green, playing behind Goosen, missed the final green wide left with his second shot and had to work to save par and force a playoff. His par on the second extra hole secured the win after Goosen missed the green and failed to get up and down.

Green, who put the R9™ 460 driver with Flight Control Technology (FCT) in play for the first time last week, led the field in driving accuracy at 78.6 percent on the difficult Glen Abbey layout. Hitting fairways with such frequency allowed him to attack the flag more often, leading to 22 birdies (2nd in the field) including nine in the second round. He was one of 42 players in the field to play an R9 driver, 18 of whom used the new R9 460.

In Green’s winning bag:
