McHenry, Illinois (July 30, 2009) – NE1 Golf Products has announced the creation of The Putting Mat, a specially designed mat to accompany The Putting Game.
“The Putting Game was designed to be used on any smooth carpet however; we realize that there will be times when our customers will not have a suitable surface to putt on. This is why we now provide a putting mat that is custom made for The Putting Game. Just as in The Putting Game itself, a lot of thought went into the design of the mat as well” said Fred Knecht, NE1 Golf’s Director of Sales & Marketing.
The surface is specifically constructed for putting and rolls true at a 10.5 Stimp for maximum consistency and true-to-life putting simulation. The shape of the mat is specifically designed with no right angles at the setup location so that users are not “cheating” when aligning the putter face by using the sides or end of the mat for a visual alignment aid.
“Most other putting mats are rectangle in shape and create a ‘bowling alley effect’ when practicing. Rectangles and straight lines typically do not exist on the golf course,” said Knecht.
Also, The Putting Mat’s unique shape allows one to play The Putting Game without stepping on the putting mat itself. “This is a big advantage as it allows the mat to lie perfectly flat and not move or be deformed as one strokes each putt,” said Knecht.
The Putting Mat retails on the company’s web site for $34.99. Other accessories for The Putting Game include The Putting Case and the multi-plug A/C adapter.
The Putting Case is made especially for the The Putting Game. It is made of steel and aluminum, and measures 20.5″ x 10.0″ x 7.5″. The carrying case retails at $49.99.
The multi-plug A/C adapter is available. The set includes one plug for US and the other three are for international use; and retails at $19.99.
Offering numerous games and putting challenges, The Putting Game debuted at the PGA Merchandise Show in January 2009 with rave reviews. The training aid is different than others because it uses a “virtual cup” (not a physical cup) and is “Stimp aware” to provide feedback on putt distance.
