4 Florida golfers advance to U.S. finals

Chris Keeley posted a 71 at the Plantation Palm Golf Club in Land-o-Lakes, FL for a net 67 to claim the first flight and earn a spot in the U.S. finals of the World Golfers Championship Sept. 12-13 at Mission Inn Resort and Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, FL.

Also advancing to the U.S. finals were Ken Fraser with a 78 for a net 70, Jason Balough with an 89 forf a net 76 and Tony Ott with an 88 for a net 70.

The 18-hole qualifier was held in conjunction with a charity event hosted by Razor Golf of Port Richey, FL

Winners in five handicap categories (0-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-20 and 21-25) at Mission Inn will earn spots in the World Golfers Championship Oct. 24-31 in Marbella, Spain.

Anders Bengtson reminded other clubs wishing to send teams to the U.S. finals that the deadline for qualifying events will be Aug. 20. The entry fee is $600 per team.
