SAN DIEGO, CA. – Heritage Golf Group is pleased to announce Port Royal Golf & Racquet Club has commenced the project of building a short game practice area. Port Royal Golf & Racquet Club is part of The Heritage Collection on Hilton Head Island and features 54 holes of legendary golf nestled within one of Hilton Head Island’s most pristine plantations along the Atlantic coastline.
The project, which began on August 3rd, 2009, was designed by PGA TOUR Design Services, Inc. Upon the estimated completion date of November 15th, 2009, Port Royal Golf & Racquet Club will have a state of the art facility designed for virtually any type of short game practice. The project is part of Heritage Golf Group’s on-going effort to improve the golfer’s experience and provide unrivaled golf and uncompromising service.

Port Royal Golf & Racquet Club, named one of the “Top 75 U.S. Golf Resorts” by Golf Digest Magazine, is located on the northwestern point of Hilton Head Island. In 1997, Port Royal was recognized as a “1997 Silver Medal Resort” by Golf Magazine for its three spectacular 18-hole golf courses, The Barony, Planter’s Row, and Robber’s Row.
Port Royal Golf & Racquet Club offers a magnificent Clubhouse, with over 15,000 square feet of luxurious space, including a 6,831 square foot veranda, a world-class Racquet Club, a practice area, croquet court, golf shop and locker rooms. The 16-court Racquet Club features 10 Har-Tru clay courts, two grass courts, four hard courts of which two are lighted, and a tennis pro shop.
