ORLANDO, Fla. (Aug. 11, 2009) – Turnstile Publishing Company, which specializes in high-end publications for active and affluent audiences, received five awards at the 2009 Florida Magazine Association (FMA) Awards, including the coveted Charlie Award for Best Column. This year’s honors, which were presented at Friday’s awards gala, continue more than a decade of the FMA’s recognition of Turnstile’s publishing merit.
Chosen among 675 entries from across the state of Florida, the publishing company’s 2009 FMA wins include one Design Excellence award and four Writing Excellence awards, with two different Turnstile publications being honored, Golfweek and Art Calendar. The honors are as follows:
Design Excellence
* Silver Award: Best Cover – June 21, 2008 (Golfweek)
Writing Excellence
* Charlie Award: Best Column – Consumer 50,000 Plus (Golfweek) Jeff Babineau
* Silver Award: Best In-Depth Reporting – Consumer 50,000 Plus (Golfweek) “Municipal Golf,” Gene Yasuda, Adam Schupak and Bradley Klein
* Silver Award: Best Written Magazine – Trade/Technical (Art Calendar)
* Bronze Award: Best Service Feature – Trade/Technical (Art Calendar) “Get It There: Packing & Shipping 2-D Art,” Diana Moses Botkin
