Youth golf program expands to Cleveland East
CLEVELAND, OH – Total Golf Adventures (TGA), one of the leading initiatives to grow the game of golf and the only national after-school junior golf program in the country, has expanded its franchises to the state of Ohio. This new TGA territory in Cleveland East, the first in the state of Ohio, is owned and operated by Cleveland native Andy Wolfe.
“We are very excited about our first franchise in the state of Ohio. The Cleveland market is a very popular golfing area and we look forward to working with Andy, to grow the game in ‘Cleveland East’ while instilling life values and character development through our five-level education based program,” said Joshua Jacobs, president and CEO of Total Golf Adventures.
Wolfe, who was born and raised in the Cleveland area, comes to TGA with over 12- years experience in sales and marketing, as well as teaching golf to children. A graduate of The Ohio State University, Wolfe brings a passion for golf that has driven him to help grow the game in other local communities. He was a camp instructor at Fairways Golf Camp in Encino, CA, a summer camp that teaches children about the game of golf and the life values associated with it.
In addition to his TGA commitments, Wolfe is currently a camp and clinic instructor at Grantwood Golf Course in Solon, Ohio.
“Total Golf Adventures has developed the perfect way to introduce golf to young men and women by bringing it directly to the school systems, which will have a great impact on growing the game in the future,” said Wolfe.
“In a very short time we have already made an impact in the Cleveland East area with commitments from seven schools with over 85 total classes for this fall. This is just the beginning and I am looking forward to growing the game in this area,” Wolfe said.
About Total Golf Adventures
Total Golf Adventures (www.golftga.com) was founded in 2003 with the mission to provide all K-8th grade students with access to the game of golf through the first national at-school, after-school Golf Enrichment Program. TGA has put more than 50,000 students through its programs. There are TGA programs in over 20 states with more than 1,800 schools participating.
TGA breaks down the traditional barriers of inconvenience and high cost when golf is brought to children through their schools. TGA’s five-level Golf Enrichment Program, developed by PGA and LPGA golf professionals in coordination with top PhD’s in education and curriculum development, teaches the fundamentals, rules and etiquette of golf. It also promotes education and golf’s life values through its character development initiative, “Play the Fair Way with TGA.” TGA is a USGA-approved program under the Rules of Amateur Status.
TGA supplies its territory owners with the tools they need to succeed while building a strong base of corporate supporters that supply a variety of services and products to TGA territories. Just added to a growing list of corporate partners/sponsors is Staples®, which provides printed marketing solutions for all TGA territories. Already participating with TGA are Nicklaus Golf Equipment, the official provider of junior golf clubs, and Garb, Inc., the official provider of apparel for participants and staff.
TGA is endorsed and named as the official junior golf initiative by the National High School Golf Coaches Association (NHSGCA), is a national supporting organization of the After School Alliance and Lights on AfterSchool, and are a corporate advocate and a partner of the President’s Challenge on Physical Fitness; and is a partner with the Southern California PGA Section and Northern California PGA Section.
