‘The Hottest Shafts In Golf’ captures Grand Slam of shafts winning wood and hybrid counts at all 4 major championships for second time
POWAY, Calif. – Trusting the enhanced power, consistent flex and precise feel of Aldila’s NV™ in his driver, the world’s 110th player defied the odds by capturing the PGA Championship and becoming the first Asian-born player to win a Major Championship. The NV also played another pivotal role in the win, as the South Korean native counted on the precise feel of the NV in his hybrid club when he hit arguably the shot of his life on the 18th hole that landed within a few feet of the pin to help set up his victory.
The victory at the PGA Championship Sunday gave Aldila their second win at a major championship in 2009. Their first came when the winner of the Masters captured his second major title using Aldila’s ProtoPype in his Driver and 3 Wood.
“The Hottest Shafts In Golf” won the wood and hybrid shaft manufacturer counts at the Hazeltine National Golf Club giving Aldila a clean sweep of those shaft categories at all four majors in 2009, according to the Darrell Survey. This marked the second time that Aldila has accomplished that feat.
“Knowing that the best players in the world have come to rely on Aldila as their preferred shaft of choice when competing at the highest levels is an honor and the ultimate demonstration of the superior performance of our shafts,” said Mike Rossi, Aldila’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
With a total for 53 VooDoo® shafts in play between the PGA and Nationwide Tour this week, Aldila remains the #1 shaft on Tour with more wood shafts in play and nearly two times as many hybrid shafts in play than any other shaft manufacturer. Aldila was also the wood and hybrid shaft of choice at the Price Cutter Charity Championship on the Nationwide Tour winning both of those counts. In fact, “The Hottest Shafts In Golf” dominated the hybrid shaft manufacturer count at the PGA Championship winning by nearly a 3 to 1 margin over the closest leading competitor.
“What sets the VooDoo apart from the field is its patent-pending S-core (stabilized core) Technology™ designed to maximize energy transfer to the golf ball, yielding unparalleled distance and accuracy with each swing,” said Stewart Bahl, Aldila’s Marketing Manager. “The real “magic” is the high modulus carbon stabilization rib running the length of the VooDoo shaft. The innovative rib structure keeps the shaft more concentric, preventing shaft ovaling, deformation and wasted energy during the golf swing. The VooDoo simply helps generate consistently straight and long shots – with feel competitor shafts can’t match,” Bahl said.
Aldila catapults power to an unprecedented level. High performance technology harnessed and perfected from a special blend of materials, design and expertise. Pushing success to the edge and redefining how power should feel. Are you playing Aldila or just graphite?
