Five from Arizona advance to U.S. finals

Chris Borkowski posted a net 74 for a gross 68 to win the second flight in a special qualifying World Golfers Championship at the Sun City (AZ) Country Club.

Also advancing to the U.S. finals Sept. 12-13 at the Mission Inn Resort and Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, FL were Ray Madrid with 77-75 in flight 1, John Kurczek with 89-76 in flight 3, Tom Loegering with 90-74 in flight 4 and Vernon deVries with 88-66 in flight 5.

Winners in five handicap categories (0-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-20 and 21-25) at Mission Inn will earn spots in the World Golfers Championship Oct. 24-31 in Marbella, Spain where they will join golfers from more than 30 other countries.
