ALPHARETTA, Ga. – Acculength Golf, LLC, an acclaimed leader in junior golf, and an award-winning manufacturer of expandable clubs for children, today announced the arrival of K. Tracy Roberts, P.G.A., as the company’s newest addition. Roberts, a seasoned professional instructor with decades of multifaceted golf industry experience to his credit, will serve as the company’s director of corporate education. The news comes as Acculength Golf prepares to participate in the golf industry’s premier fall marketplace, the 2009 PGA Fall Expo, September 1-2, at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino Convention Center in Las Vegas. Acculength Golf products and representatives, including Roberts, can be found just off the Golf Performance & Training Center in booth ETC5.
Roberts’ impressive golf résumé spans more than two decades – experience that will be immediately leveraged in the new position. As director of corporate education, he will act as an internal strategic advisor to the growing company and an external brand educator and conduit to the professional golf community. Among his primary responsibilities, Roberts will serve to further Acculength’s established relationships with the many P.G.A. sections and instructors already embracing the company’s innovation while forging new relationships with the countless others whose instructional programs at the junior level would benefit from the unique products.
“Tracy brings to Acculength Golf the prefect blend of industry acumen and junior golf expertise, and he adds an unmatched ability to educate others about the real advantage that exists for coaches, parents and junior players who engage with our products,” said Acculength CEO Shawn Benson, the company’s original founder and inventor, who acquired Acculength Golf in February. “We couldn’t be more proud to have someone of Tracy’s caliber helping our organization grow the game of golf by espousing the importance of a properly fit golf club and the resulting enjoyment junior golfers will have by playing the game with high-performance equipment that matches their swing – even as they grow in size.”
Affectionately known as “Coach,” the Orange County, Calif.,-based Roberts is the author of Play REAL Golf, a successful instructional manual that helps golfers improve their emotional mechanics and their pure enjoyment of the sport by focusing on positive reinforcement, not error correction. He also is a nationally recognized broadcast personality, regularly serving as an in-studio contributor to the popular Tee it Up radio show.
“As a parent and a professional golf instructor, I am excited to partner with a company that so seamlessly supports the interests of each by providing moms and dads with an innovative golf-club-buying solution and coaches with the tools to teach the game with added confidence because their junior students are playing with the proper equipment,” said Roberts. “Acculength not only brings an often overlooked, yet critical component of the game to the forefront of the junior golf industry, but the Acculength products themselves deliver in large doses on the company’s brand promise.”
Acculength golf clubs are the only expandable junior golf clubs on the market today. A patented spacer technology provides an accurate fit for up to five seasons by adding appropriate length to each Acculength golf club without compromising the integrity of the high-quality graphite shaft or changing swing weight. Each Acculength golf club can accommodate up to four one-inch spacers that are easily inserted into the grip-end of the club. Acculength golf clubs are available in four starter sets for junior golfers ages 3-13 and can be purchased at major national retail outlets or online at www.clubsthatgrow.com.
Voted the New Product of the Year among all equipment products at the 2005 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Acculength products range in price from $139 – $179, which includes four starter clubs, four one-inch spacers and a durable and attractive stand bag.
