‘The Hottest Shafts In Golf’ continues wood, hybrid shaft count domination on PGA, Nationwide Tours
POWAY, Calif. – Using Aldila’s VS Proto™ the winner of the Wyndham Championship posted his first PGA Tour victory after winning a three-way playoff Sunday. With the win he earned 500 FedEx Cup points and jumped from 76th to the 22nd spot as the playoffs start Thursday at the Barclays.
After making the switch in his Driver to Aldila’s R.I.P., the second place finisher at the Christmas in October Classic posted his best finish on the Tour. He finished 14th in driving distance with a 290.3 average with a 300 and a 301 average for the third and fourth rounds respectively.
“R.I.P. is Aldila’s new shaft technology that provides a lower torque, increased tip stability and better tip stiffness control,” said Stewart Bahl, Aldila’s Marketing Manager. “The R.I.P. is currently undergoing testing on the PGA Tour and is scheduled to be launched later this year and will be released in 2010 through some of the major OEM’s product lines.”
With 49 VooDoo® shafts featuring S-core Technology™, in play between the PGA and Nationwide Tours, “The Hottest Shafts In Golf” were able to maintain their status as the #1 shaft on Tour by winning the wood and hybrid shaft counts on both Tours, according to the Darrell Survey.
Aldila once again dominated the hybrid shaft manufacturer counts on the PGA and Nationwide Tours with more than a 2 to 1 margin of hybrid shafts in play over the next leading manufacturer at the Wyndham Championship and nearly a 2 to 1 margin at the Christmas in October Classic on the Nationwide Tour.
“Players continue to make the switch to the VooDoo after experiencing the stability, accuracy and increased distance of its stabilized core,” said Bahl. “The secret is the VooDoo’s internal carbon-fiber rib system that runs the length of the shaft and dramatically stabilizes its cross-section. The innovative rib structure increases hoop strength/stiffness so much that it is 80 percent greater than conventional graphite, and up to 60 percent greater than competitors’ attempts at cross-sectional stabilization. The VooDoo simply helps generate consistently straight and long shots – with feel competitor shafts can’t match.”
Aldila is the leader, innovator and premier manufacturer of high-performance graphite golf shafts. Whether it is a PGA Tour Professional, club champion or avid weekend player Aldila remains the shaft of choice.
