Youth golf program expands to Hamilton and Boone Counties north of Indianapolis
INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Total Golf Adventures (TGA), one of the leading initiatives to grow the game of golf and the only national after-school junior golf program in the country, has expanded its franchises to the state of Indiana, which is owned and operated by local businessman, Jim White. This new TGA territory in Hamilton and Boone County, just north of Indianapolis will be the first TGA franchise in the Hoosier state of Indiana.
“We are very excited about our first franchise in the state of Indiana and working with Jim to grow the game of golf around the Indianapolis region while instilling life values and character development through our five-level education based program,” said Joshua Jacobs, president and CEO of Total Golf Adventures. “The Midwest region has some of the highest concentration of golfers per capita in the country, and we are very excited about our growth in this region with franchises now in Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan.”
White, who now brings his business talents to TGA, graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University and has spent the past 20-years in manufacturing as well as the life and health insurance industries. He is an avid low handicap golfer who brings a great deal of passion and knowledge of the game, as well as the life values needed to teach young people about the game of golf and life.
“I am very excited about the opportunity to bring the Total Golf Adventure program to the schools in Hamilton County and Boone County. My goal is to use golf as a vehicle for having fun, teaching life values, and spending quality time with friends and family,” said White.
White is also looking forward to providing parents of young kids a convenient opportunity associated with the school systems to learn the game of golf and the life lessons associated with the game.
“Unfortunately, most kids never get the opportunity to experience the great game of Golf. For parents, especially non-golfing parents, it is easy to find a place for their children to play baseball, soccer, basketball, and football, but golf is more difficult to get access to. This is what makes the Total Golf Adventures program so great. We make golf convenient and fun for elementary age kids and their parents,” continued White.
“Our hope is that through the TGA program, kids will develop a love of the game and continue to play throughout their adult life.”
About Total Golf Adventures
Total Golf Adventures (www.golftga.com) was founded in 2003 with the mission to provide all K-8th grade students with access to the game of golf through the first national at-school, after-school Golf Enrichment Program. TGA has put more than 50,000 students through its programs. There are TGA programs in over 20 states with more than 1,800 schools participating.
TGA breaks down the traditional barriers of inconvenience and high cost when golf is brought to children through their schools. TGA’s five-level Golf Enrichment Program, developed by PGA and LPGA golf professionals in coordination with top PhD’s in education and curriculum development, teaches the fundamentals, rules and etiquette of golf. It also promotes education and golf’s life values through its character development initiative, “Play the Fair Way with TGA.” TGA is a USGA-approved program under the Rules of Amateur Status.
TGA is endorsed and named as the official junior golf initiative by the National High School Golf Coaches Association (NHSGCA): is a national supporting organization of the After School Alliance and Lights on AfterSchool, a corporate advocate and a partner of the President’s Challenge on Physical Fitness; and is a partner with the Southern California PGA Section and Northern California PGA Section.
