PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (August 26, 2009) – The award-winning GolfTalk Live radio show, hosted by Tony Leodora, is taking on the challenge of the PGA Tour Superstore World Amateur Handicap Championship in Myrtle Beach
For a stretch of nine days the Myrtle Beach area will be the headquarters for GolfTalk Live, focusing on two of the largest events of the year in the area.
It all begins with the pairings party for the Know the Score Celebrity Golf Tournament, benefitting the fight against prostate cancer, on Friday. That will take place at Tommy Bahama’s in the new Market Common, just south of the airport in Myrtle Beach.
On Saturday, August 29 GolfTalk Live will broadcast from the tournament site, the Long Bay Club at the north end of the Grand Strand.
Beginning Monday, August 31, show host Tony Leodora will play in the World Amateur Handicap Championship. In an effort to further bare his flawed golf game to the world, he will write a daily story from the tournament and post it on the Blog portion of the show website, www.golftalklive.net.
The Myrtle Beach adventure will conclude with a show on Saturday, September 5 from the famed Dunes Golf and Beach – site of the final round of the World Amateur Handicap Championship.
“The World Amateur Handicap Championship is always an action-packed week,” said Leodora. “Playing in it and writing a daily self-confession should make it even more interesting – and probably more humbling.”
GolfTalk Live, which airs 52 weeks a year from 7 to 8 a.m. each Saturday on WNTP 990-AM and on www.wntp.com, is an interview-driven golf show that has grabbed national attention. At the PGA Merchandise Show in 2008, GolfTalk Live was votedAmerica’s Best Golf Radio Show by the prestigious International Network of Golf.
