Five-Day Instructional Course Targets First-time/Inexperienced Golfers
(TALLAHASSEE, Fla.) – SouthWood Golf Club – the award-winning Fred Couples and Gene Bates designed course owned by The St. Joe Company and managed by Billy Casper Golf – announces it will host “Get Golf Ready,” the nationally-branded program created and administered by the World Golf Foundation (“WGF”).
“Get Golf Ready” targets millions of U.S. adults who have never played golf, have minimal previous connection to the game or need rejuvenation after a hiatus. Designed to be conducted in comfortable and enjoyable settings, participants are provided background and skills training on rules, etiquette and values, and a series of five introductory lessons in small groups, which are guided by trained PGA and LPGA professionals.
Fall sessions at SouthWood begin Thursday, September 17th at 5:30pm and will run for five consecutive weeks. Registration for the program is available online at www.playgolfamerica.com or by contacting the golf shop at 850.942.4653. The cost to participate is $99 per person and the course will provide equipment if necessary.
“This is a perfect opportunity for any individual that wants to learn or relearn the game but doesn’t know where to turn,” says Beth Murphy, General Manager of SouthWood Golf Club. “It is a friendly environment filled helpful instructors and useful tips to set players down the right path.”
With a strong focus on growing the game and working to better the Tallahassee community through charitable events and programs, SouthWood Golf Club has become a local leader in providing a place for all to experience and enjoy the game of golf. The club has hosted and worked with numerous philanthropic organizations and strives to continue this trend through meaningful partnerships with local, regional and national golf and non-golf related entities.
The SouthWood Golf Club is widely acknowledged as one of the premier golf experiences in north Florida, earning “best-of” honors and accolades from the ZAGAT Survey, Golf Digest, GOLF, T+L Golf, Golfing Magazine and Tallahassee Magazine.
