About French Lick Resort
With the opening of the Pete Dye Course earlier this spring, French Lick Resort has resurfaced and is quickly becoming America’s most talked about golf destinations. Located on a hilltop behind the historic French Lick Springs Hotel – one of the highest points in Indiana – Dye’s masterpiece offers stunning panoramic views of over 30 miles. The course, which stretches over 8,000 yards from the professional tees, can easily accommodate major tournaments but also is accessible to the average player with six sets of tees.
A historic Donald Ross Course is also included in the resort’s 45 holes of golf. In fact, it is the only resort destination in the country to combine a modern classic course by Pete Dye with a historic Donald Ross course. Following a $6 million restoration project, golfers will be challenged by the return of 35 original bunkers, expanded green complexes, and native fescue areas.
As a whole, French Lick Resort has undergone a $500 million historic renovation. One of the largest private restoration projects in the country, the restoration project included both French Lick Springs Hotel and West Baden Springs Hotel ̢??two historic hotels with a combined total of 686 guest rooms. In addition to golf, the resort also features two full service spas, meeting rooms, and a 51,000-square foot, single-level casino and an array of dining and entertainment options.

About Folds of Honor & Patriot Golf Day
Folds of Honor is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization with a mission to empower deserving military families with educational support and opportunities. Folds of Honor provides post-secondary educational scholarships to the spouses and children of service members disabled or killed as a result of their military service to our great nation. The Folds of Honor Foundation was founded in 2007 by Major Dan Rooney, an F-16 pilot, golf course owner, PGA Professional and USGA member. A Major in the Air National Guard and a decorated military aviator, Rooney has served three combat tours in Iraq.
The Folds of Honor Foundation’s primary fundraiser is Patriot Golf Day, the largest grassroots golf platform in the country. With the support of The PGA of America and USGA, Patriot Golf Day has generated over $3 million from more than 3,700 golf courses in just two years. Major Dan Rooney started Patriot Golf Day in 2007 by asking golfers to add $1 to their greens fees in support of the Folds of Honor Foundation. Since then, the concept has grown to include a number of supporters and fundraising efforts. In 2009, The PGA and USGA will continue to support the cause by encouraging their collective membership to participate and promote participation on a national scale through the airing of public service announcements during the PGA Championship and US Open. Patriot Golf Day 2009 will again be held during the Labor Day weekend, September 4-7.
