Verizon Wireless™ Customers Have Access to Golf Distances, Scoring and Stat-Tracking
Scottsdale, Arizona – August 27, 2009 GolfLogix now supports the BlackBerry® Storm™ enabling Verizon customers and other BlackBerry Storm users access to the latest GPS distance and stat-tracking Smartphone application. GolfLogix is offering a 24-hour free trial to allow golfers to download the application to their phones and try it for a round. “We have a strong product and have seen that once golfers use GolfLogix just once, they really like the convenience of distances on the course and the detailed information that our application gives them after their round,” states Pete Charleston, president of GolfLogix, Inc. After the 24-hour trial period, golfers are invited to become a GolfLogix community member for $39.95 per year. Membership includes access to more than 24,000+ golf course maps worldwide, a personalized statistic tracking website, distance information on every round, automatic score tracking, club data, accessory discounts, software and map data upgrades, and more.
GolfLogix on a BlackBerry Storm gives golfers convenient distances to the front, center and back of the greens as well as layups and major hazards on golf courses worldwide. Plus they have access to GolfLogix’ patented scoring and round tracking technology. This allows golfers to analyze and compare round data such as fairways hit, greens in regulation, distances of each club and more right on their BlackBerry phones or on a personalized website hosted by GolfLogix. “It’s like having an experienced caddie with you for every shot and then having a top training pro review each of your rounds,” added Charleston.
Currently, GolfLogix can be downloaded to more than a dozen Smartphones including the iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, BlackBerry Curve™, BlackBerry Bold™, BlackBerry Tour™ and BlackBerry Storm™. “Besides the requests that we were getting from Verizon customers, it was important for us to add the BlackBerry Storm to our list of supported Smartphones. It is an excellent device with clear resolution and other features that work well with our GolfLogix application,” states Pete Charleston. The Company’s development team is continually evaluating popular GPS-enabled devices in respect to its golf GPS application. “We have been a leader in golf GPS for 10 years now and we feel that it just makes sense to have people use the device that they are already comfortable with.”
GolfLogix plans to continue to distribute and sell its widely popular GPS-8 which utilizes a Garmin handheld GPS device and offers convenient distance measurements on a large, easy-to-read screen. The GPS-8 retails for $299.95, includes one free golf course download and golf courses worldwide for an annual membership of $29.95. With the GPS-8, golfers just turn it on and play golf all while getting distance information for their entire round.
Starting August 3rd, Competitive Edge Media, GolfLogix’ exclusive agency, launched the National TV and Print campaign promoting the smartphone application.
