(FINCASTLE, VA) – Botetourt Country Club – managed by Billy Casper Golf – has inducted Harry Mac Williamson, Bennie Griffith and Troy Smith into the club’s prestigious Hall of Fame.
Williamson, a charter member of Botetourt since the club opened in 1962, has also been instrumental in the club gaining financial support through the Bank of Fincastle. Griffith, a long-time member of the Botetourt Board of Directors and President of the Board on several occasions, has worked for the Botetourt County school district for many years and supports numerous local service organizations. Smith, a former Botetourt club champion, has served as its golf course superintendent since 1995.
“We’re ecstatic to enshrine three deserving members,” says Mike Biscotte, president of Botetourt Country Club. “The commitment of this year’s recipients to Botetourt and the surrounding community is unsurpassed, and they set a wonderful example for all of us to follow.”
Established in 2006, the Botetourt Country Club Hall of Fame recognizes individuals and corporations who have made positive contributions to the club, the local golf and recreation environment and the community.
For more than 45 years, the storied Botetourt Country Club has consistently drawn golfers to the Roanoke Valley in Southwest Virginia. Surrounded by the Allegheny and Blue Ridge Mountains, there are spectacular, sweeping views throughout the 18-hole, 6,065-yard, par 71 course.
