NEW BEDFORD, Mass., Sept. 7, 2009 – AHEAD announced today that it will donate $22,000 to the Folds of Honor Foundation from sales of its limited edition Patriot Golf Day caps. AHEAD sold 8800 Patriot Golf Day caps in which $2.50 per cap went directly to the foundation.

“AHEAD and our sales team really believe in the mission to support our fallen heroes families and worked hard in promoting this program over the last 6 weeks,” said Jeff Waller, national sales manager, AHEAD. “We would like to especially thank our accounts for showing their support, without their support this donation would not be possible. The Folds of Honor Foundation is a great cause and we hope our contribution will make a little difference in the lives of military families.”

Patriot Golf Day was held last weekend at 5000 participating golf courses. Ahead offered three limited-edition logo caps in honor of Patriot Golf Day. The three logos available on the front of the cap were the F-16 Viper fighter jet logo, the F-16 Viper fighter jet logo with the Patriot Golf Day logo and the Folds of Honor Foundation logo. Each cap had the Folds of Honor Foundation words on the back of the cap. The caps were available in two styles, classic fit or extreme fit and in the following colors – red, white, gold, bone, cobalt and navy. The AHEAD limited edition caps sold for $19 at participating Patriot Golf Day courses.

PGA Professional Dan Rooney, an F-16 fighter pilot in the Oklahoma Air National Guard, is the founder of the Folds of Honor Foundation. Major Rooney has served two tours in Iraq, and will be returning for another tour this summer. The Folds of Honor Scholarship Fund provides educational scholarships to the spouses and children of military service members disabled or killed in the line of duty.
