Softspikes Dominates Plastic Cleat Fields Across All Professional Golf Tours
Brentwood, Tennessee, September 8, 2009 … Softspikes® golf cleats – the world’s best selling cleat brand – complemented a weekend of leaderboard dominance on the PGA and Champions Tours by capturing a victory at the Nationwide Tour’s Mexico Open Presented by Corona Light, as the winner donned Pulsar® cleats, the #1 Cleat on Tour.
In addition to its Nationwide Tour victory, 34 of the top 39 finishers at the Mexico Open wore Softspikes and other cleat models made by PrideSports. Equally impressive, 6 of the top 11 finishers at the PGA TOUR’s Deutsche Bank Championship, 31 of the top 38 finishers at the Champions Tour’s Wal-Mart First Tee Open and 29 of the top 40 finishers at the LPGA CN Canadian Women’s Open all wore PrideSports products. The Company also reports that a stable of players are now wearing the innovative, new Black Widow® Tour™ cleat, which is rapidly gaining popularity on all Tours.
“As the 2009 Tour season is winding down, its great to see that players of all levels are continuing to choose our products over the competitors,” said John Hohman, VP of Marketing, PrideSports. “We are even more excited to see more and more players are gravitating towards the Black Widow Tour cleat. Player usage is very strong for this new cleat, and we hope to keep this momentum going throughout the playoffs and into next year.”
PrideSports was formed in January 2003 following Pride Manufacturing Company’s purchase of Softspikes, Inc., and its sister company Trisport, Ltd. of England. This acquisition essentially formed the world’s premier golf accessories company, as Pride and Softspikes are the world’s leading golf tee and golf cleat lines, respectively. Today, PrideSports is the world leader in the design and manufacture of cleats, spikes and receptacles for the entire golf footwear industry.
