LPGA staff player Vicky Hurst moved into a tie for the number one spot in driving distance on tour this year.
Hurst is averaging 270.8 yards per drive in her 2009 season and has hit 62.4% of fairways in regulation. She also ranks in the top- 40 in sand saves (45.7%), rounds under par (23), birdies (182), greens in regulation (69.6%), and putts per green in regulation (1.79). Considering 2009 is Hurst’s rookie season on tour, one can only imagine what her future holds in professional golf.
In addition to hitting it long and straight, Hurst has also picked up 3 top-10 finishes on tour in 2009. Last week, Hurst tied for 8th at the CN Canadian Women’s Open after shooting back-to-back rounds of 67 over the weekend.
