HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy (IJGA) is proud to announce an official partnership with the Mexican Golf Federation. The Mexican Golf Federation is the governing body of amateur golf for Mexico under the United States Golf Association (USGA), which oversees both the United States and Mexico.
The Mexican Golf Federation visited the Hank Haney IJGA in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina on August 27-30, 2009 with its junior national team of 16 golfers. As part of their trip to the United States last month, each golfer had an opportunity to work with Hank Haney, instructor to the #1 player in the world. The players also had the opportunity to work with Peter Krause, Director of Instruction for the Hank Haney IJGA and a PGA Top 100 teacher, and other members of the Hank Haney IJGA staff in mental training, physical training, and course management.
To finalize their trip, all 16 junior golfers from the Mexican Golf Federation competed against Hank Haney IJGA students in an 18-hole tournament held at Pinecrest Golf Club in Bluffton, South Carolina. It gave both groups of players an opportunity to compete against the best talent in junior golf.
Over 2,000 junior golfers in Mexico are in competition to receive a spot on the national team of only 16 spots. In an upcoming Mexican Golf Federation junior event on September 24th-28th, the Hank Haney IJGA will have representatives present to speak about the premier training, academics, and competition they offer.
