Second youth golf program is added in Connecticut
HARTFORD, CT – Total Golf Adventures (TGA), one of the leading initiatives to grow the game of golf and the only national after-school junior golf program in the country, has expanded its franchises to Hartford, Connecticut, which is owned and operated by Brian Karavish. This new territory is the second TGA franchise in the state joining Fairfield County.
“We are very excited about adding a second franchise in the state of Connecticut and working with Brian to continue growing the game of golf in the New England region while instilling life values and character development through our five-level education based program,” said Joshua Jacobs, president and CEO of Total Golf Adventures. “We are also very pleased about our consistent growth of franchises in this down economy, further proving that all demographics of kids want to get involved and stay in golf when a structured program is brought to them.”
Karavish, who comes to TGA following a seven-year career in software sales for two Fortune 500 Companies, was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts. In addition to being a low handicap golfer and understanding the game, he is also a certified personal trainer, which will allow him to help kids learn about the value of nutrition and exercise along with teaching young people about the life values associated with the game of golf and life.
“The opportunity to work with TGA is a dream come true. I have always wanted to work in the golf industry and have my own business. TGA combines all these things and more. I can work in an industry I love, take advantage of my previous skills in both golf and personal training, all while growing and shaping the young golfers of Hartford County and beyond,” said Karavish. “Being that person responsible for introducing golf to young children, helping to shape their skills and knowledge of the game is truly a priceless gift I will cherish.”
Karavish, a long time resident of the area, is looking forward to working with the school systems and developing positive programs that grow the game of golf while working with young people.
“I can’t wait to start working with the schools and children of Hartford County. I have lived and worked in the Hartford area for about ten-years and know the area very well,” continued Karavish. “The opportunities seem endless considering TGA’s acclaimed after school golf enrichment program that I will be implementing. I look forward to having a huge impact on our community by spreading the love of golf to the young people of Hartford County.”
About Total Golf Adventures
Total Golf Adventures (www.golftga.com) was founded in 2003 with the mission to provide all K-8th grade students with access to the game of golf through the first national at-school, after-school Golf Enrichment Program. TGA has put more than 50,000 students through its programs. There are TGA programs in over 20 states with more than 1,800 schools participating this fall across the United States.
TGA breaks down the traditional barriers of inconvenience and high cost when golf is brought to children through their schools. TGA’s five-level Golf Enrichment Program, developed by PGA and LPGA golf professionals in coordination with top PhD’s in education and curriculum development, teaches the fundamentals, rules and etiquette of golf. It also promotes education and golf’s life values through its character development initiative, “Play the Fair Way with TGA.” TGA is a USGA-approved program under the Rules of Amateur Status.
TGA is endorsed and named as the official junior golf initiative by the National High School Golf Coaches Association (NHSGCA): is a national supporting organization of the After School Alliance and Lights on AfterSchool, a corporate advocate and a partner of the President’s Challenge on Physical Fitness; and is a partner with the Southern California PGA Section and Northern California PGA Section.
