Nearly 60% of the Plastic Wearing Cleat Field at the TOUR Championship Wore Softspikes Products; Black Widow® Tour® at Forefront of Banner Year for Softspikes and PrideSports
Brentwood, Tennessee, September 28, 2009 … Softspikes® golf cleats, the world’s best selling cleat, captured this weekend’s TOUR Championship with nearly 60% of the plastic wearing cleat field choosing to wear Softspikes brand cleats. The win culminated another dominating season on the PGA TOUR for Softspikes and PrideSports, as the brand averaged over 70% usage among players wearing plastic cleats.
Complementing Softspikes’ weekend success on TOUR, the Company also dominated the leaderboards at the Champions Tour’s SAS Championship, the Nationwide Tour’s WNB Classic and the LPGA’s CVS Pharmacy Challenge.
At the forefront of Softspikes’ success in 2009 was the launch of the Company’s first new cleat innovation in five years, the Black Widow® Tour®. The game’s first adjustable golf cleat, Black Widow® Tour® received rave reviews among players on all of the professional tours, while capturing several wins, including a PGA Championship victory and multiple top 10 finishes. 2009 also marked the debut of several new products in the Softspikes accessory arsenal that have enjoyed strong success among players at all levels.
