Fleet of Trendy Push Carts to be Utilized by Caddies in Competition
RICHMOND, Va. (September 29, 2009) – Thanks to a trendy, lightweight fleet of push carts that are easy to fold and maneuver, golfers across the U.S. are gravitating to push carts, as a cool, fun and healthy way to navigate the course. Now, caddies in competition can experience the latest phenomenon and reap the immeasurable health benefits of using a push cart around the course.
The Bag Boy Company, the No. 1 name in golf cart innovation, today announced a donation of 50 Automatic push carts to Golden Hills Golf and Turf Club, whereby caddies at the 23rd U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur will have access to the Company’s trendy fleet of push carts during competition. Recently recognized as a Gold recipient in the 2009 Golf Digest “Hot List” for push carts, the Automatic push carts will enable caddies to push golf clubs around the course as an alternative to carrying a bag.
The 23rd U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship will be held October 3 – October 8 at Golden Hills Golf and Turf Club in Ocala, Florida.
“Allowing caddies to push their golfers’ clubs around the course will conserve energy and enable the caddies to focus more attention on their course management responsibilities,” said Craig Ramsbottom, President, The Bag Boy Company. “It’s refreshing to see more organizations adopt the usage of push carts for golfers and caddies.”
Bernadette Castro, owner of Golden Hills and Co-Chair of the Championship, said, “The push cart donation is amazing – it allowed us to recruit so many more caddies. Our course has such beautiful hills, and these push carts give the caddies the option to push the players’ bags instead of carrying them. What an asset to our Championship!”
Today, the walking golf cart market has transformed from a two-wheel pull cart to a three-wheel push cart and the new, ergonomically correct, user-friendly three-wheel designs can be found at all types of facilities including private, resort and high-end daily fee courses nationwide. Moreover, after extensive research revealed the immeasurable health benefits associated with pushing one’s clubs around a golf course, The American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) allows push cart usage during all competitions.
