SEATTLE (September 28, 2009) – Veteran LPGA Tour player Sophie Gustafson won the CVS/pharmacy LPGA Challenge wearing the latest in performance apparel from Cutter & Buck.
Gustafson, now has five LPGA Tour victories to her name, but this was her first win since the 2003 Samsung World Championship. “We were thrilled by Sophie’s victory at the CVS/pharmacy LPGA Challenge,” said Brian Thompson, vice president of sales. “She’s had an impressive career on tour and we’ve been proud to support her since 2007.”
Cutter & Buck has a long history with sponsoring LPGA Tour players. In addition to Sophie Gustafson, Cutter & Buck had several other players competing at the CVS/pharmacy LPGA Challenge including: Reilly Rankin (T9), Pat Hurst (T24) and Allison Fouch (T70).
“Our relationship with Sophie is unique in the sense that she is also sponsored by Major League Baseball. As many people have already noticed, Sophie’s logos change based on where in the country she’s playing, so we have to work closely with her to understand her tournament schedule in order to ensure she’s wearing the right team logo at the right time,” said Thompson. “There’s a lot coordination involved, but I think it’s certainly worth it for both golf and baseball fans.”
In addition to supporting players on the LPGA Tour, Cutter & Buck also sponsors players on the PGA Tour, Nationwide Tour and Champions Tour. It’s thanks to Cutter & Buck’s heritage as a premier line of golf-inspired apparel that golf professionals and enthusiasts alike rely on the brand’s timeless apparel to complement their games.
