Golf course architect Ken Killian, president of the American Society of Golf Course Architects in 1986-87, died on Sept. 20 at his home in Granada Hills, Calif. Killian was 78. … International golf management company Braemar Golf partners with Russian construction company Geokam in the construction of the PGA National Russia course at the Bolshoye Zavidovo Resort, near Moscow. … Bridgestone introduces its new e-Series golf balls, a product line that targets the average amateur player and that focuses on optimizing trajectory to improve distance and accuracy.

Golf Channel will air 30 hours of Presidents Cup tournament and news coverage. Eleven hours of match coverage will be televised on Thursday (3-8 p.m. ET) and Friday (2-8 p.m. ET). Also, Paul Azinger and Nick Faldo will serve as analysts.

» Tournaments

Six 2009 tournament winners highlight the field for The Shark Shootout, Dec. 9-13 in Naples, Fla. The unofficial tournament features 12 two-player teams and will include world No. 3 Steve Stricker, No. 6 Kenny Perry, Zach Johnson, Brian Gay, Jerry Kelly and Nick Watney.
