Far Hills, N.J. (Oct. 5) – The United States Golf Association, in partnership with the PGA of America, has announced the dates, sites and instructors for the 2010 PGA/USGA Rules of Golf Workshops. Online registration begins Oct. 7 at 9 a.m. (EDT), with telephone registration beginning one week later on Oct. 14.
A total of 19 Rules workshops will be held at 14 sites across the country from January through March. Workshops span 3½ days, covering Rules 1-34 and concluding with an optional examination. In addition to the regular Rules of Golf Workshops, a two-day Introductory Workshop has been scheduled for March 30-31 at the USGA’s headquarters in Far Hills, N.J. This introductory workshop is designed for those looking to gain a basic understanding of the Rules of Golf or those preparing to attend a regular workshop in the future.
Applicants may register online via the USGA’s Web site (www.usga.org) when the registration period opens. Those who prefer to register by telephone can do so beginning Oct. 14 during regular business hours (Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. EDT). Applicants will be enrolled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Registration fees are as follows: $175 for the introductory workshop, $300 for the regular workshop, $100 for the exam only, and $75 for withdrawals or transfers, which must be completed prior to the registration deadline for the workshop requested. Fees must be pre-paid with a credit card (American Express, MasterCard or Visa).
