Alexandria, VA – September 29, 2009 – A new training program has just been launched by The US Golf Learning Institute in cooperation with CMAA and Kopplin & Kuebler, LLC. The program, named the Club Learning Institute (CLI), will give club employees and boards a wide range of industry training using Web-based modules at their club.
“With an emphasis on training all levels of a club facility’s staff and board, we believe that the programs offered through the Club Learning Institute will fill a unique niche within the industry,” says USGLI Vice President Jeff Magoon. “We are excited to work with two organizations, CMAA and Kopplin & Kuebler, that are so highly regarded in the club management field.”
Initially, the CLI’s training will focus primarily on risk management. The modules will include:
Sexual Harassment
Pool Safety and Liability
Personal Protective Equipment
Hearing Conservation Standard
Hazard Communication
Golf Car Safety
Food Handling Safety
Driver Safety
Alcohol Responsibility and Liability Certification
In the near future, the program will expand to cover governance issues and other board and committee training topics. The three collaborating organizations agree that by maintaining a highly trained staff and a well-informed board, clubs can reduce risks and help control their high insurance costs.
“Kurt Kuebler and I are fortunate that our work allows us to spend time talking with people who work in the club industry about how to improve the way clubs operate,” says Dick Kopplin, founder of Kopplin & Kuebler, LLC. “This unique training platform is the most impressive blend of technology and educational content that I have seen for club employees and board members. The combination of convenience and cost effectiveness will surely deliver tremendous value to every club that uses the program.”
“This is an extraordinary opportunity for our members and their staff,” comments CMAA CEO Jim Singerling, CCM, CEC. “We look forward to collaborating with USGLI to continue providing exceptional training courses as we extend this offering to our membership. We are also pleased that Kopplin & Kuebler will be lending their expertise to this initiative.”
