With a win by his student Byeong-Hun An in the USGA Men’s Amateur, longtime Putting Arc proponent Jonathan Yarwood now has coached five USGA national champions since 1999.
Congratulations to the LPGA Tour’s Inbee Park (1+1) and Song Hee Kim (1+8) for their one/two lead in the overall putting statistics (Combined ranking, Putts per GIR and Putting Average). This was updated on Monday, October 5, 2009.
On the amateur side, former Ole Miss golfer Dori Carter won medalist honors with rounds of 69-76-69-214, and led her Georgia team to the USGA Women’s State Team Championship at Sycamore Hills in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Also, Tupelo, Mississippi resident Mike Thompson shot 69 and won the state qualifier for the USGA Senior Amateur Championship at the Beverly Country Club in Chicago.
