Inspired by jubilation, the collections’ individual color stories draw on the fun and happiness this word evokes. Named Fabulous Flirtation, Glorious Gallivant, Lustful Leap and Daring Damsel, the groups offer bold hues and prints, as well as unique design details, including the creative use of buttons and stitching.
“This collection celebrates the warmer months with chic, modern pieces that can be paired effortlessly for a variety of looks,” says Hipp. “The goal is to inspire women to break away from the everyday with feminine, stylish selections that can transition easily from one activity to the next.”
A fusion of sport, leisure and fashion, the line’s array of tops, bottoms and accessories is designed to be mixed-and-matched, enabling women to play beautifully. Highlights of the Spring 2010 collections include two new fabrications — “Myth,” a comfortable technical fabric for tops, providing moisture wicking, quick-drying and UPF 20 protection; and “Vertical,” a durable, soft bottom fabric offering a pretty vertical pin-stripe detail and a subtle twist to a solid-colored knee short or skort.
Retailing from $65 for some tops to $125 for select outerwear, the collections are outlined in a new lookbook format, featuring several pages of lifestyle images to illustrate how LIJA is worn on and off the course. Currently available for retailers and media members, the catalog also includes a new two-page “Hipp Factor,” offering the designer’s styling insights and emphasizing the line’s versatility by showing how six individual pieces can be transformed into 10 distinct outfits.
