NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (October 13, 2009) – KZG, the #1 Custom ProLine™, has begun its annual search to identify “The World’s Top 100 ClubFitters” for 2010. This is the fifth year KZG will recognize those professional fitters with exceptional skill, integrity and passion. Those honored in 2009 hailed from 22 countries around the globe, with 51 fitters outside the United States. They ranged from small shops serving rural areas to large venues doing extensive business with multiple fitters, instructors and hitting bays.
“There are very, very few qualified fitters in the world, less than 500 in my opinion,” reports Jennifer King, President of KZG. “Many claim to be professional fitters, but their skill level is basically handing the golfer three clubs and asking which one feels the best, or screwing on different shafts and asking the same question. Or worse, they let the golfer tell them what they want! A true professional advises the golfer on what head, what shaft, what grip and what specs they need for a perfect fit…thus assuring true game improvement.”
Every applicant will be judged on a point system developed by an independent panel of leading industry experts. These experts included club designers Clay Long and Art Chou; Gene Parente, president of Golf Laboratories, Inc.; Mark Mikkelson, KZG’s Director of Fitting and Education; Kim Braly, world-renowned steel shaft designer; Dr. Christian Reichardt, author and doctor of sports medicine and fitness; and Henri Johnson, C.E.O. of FlightScope. All panel members submitted criterion on what to expect in an ideal clubfitting.
KZG will accept applications from any full-time professional clubfitter who works through or with legitimate retail facilities. Clubfitters may download the application at www.kzg.com. The deadline for submission is Nov. 15th, 2009. The winners will be publicized during the first week of 2010 through various magazines and PR efforts and will receive a framed award-certificate.
