Western Lodge-Style Interior Voted No. 3 in Annual Readers’ Choice Awards
(OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.) – Tom Hoch Design today announces that its interior design/build clubhouse at The Ridge at Back Brook has been voted the No. 3 best private clubhouse/locker room in the 2010 edition of Golf World “Readers’ Choice Awards.”
The centerpiece of one of New Jersey’s highest-rated golf courses, The Ridge at Back Brook’s clubhouse employs a rustic theme borrowing from such regional influences as American Craftsman and Adirondack styles.
Sited only after the Tom Fazio-designed golf course was fit into the idyllic setting, Tom Hoch Design crafted an interior that is compatible with its natural environment and augments the panoramic vistas of the surrounding countryside, four greens, and two tee boxes.
“Tom Hoch Design offered a complete turn-key solution — from pre-design consulting, design and space planning, to build-out and installation of all fixtures, furniture, architectural woodwork and cabinetry — that was unique to the industry,” says Joel Moore, owner of The Ridge at Back Brook. “The outcome was a beautifully-cast, Western lodge-style interior that members and guests continue to enjoy.”
“Through our integrated design and build process, Tom Hoch Design created an interior clubhouse space that exceeded the Moore’s expectations and enhanced retail, food and beverage revenue,” says Tom Hoch, President of Tom Hoch Design. “The result is a memorable, functional space that provides members and guests with a warm and inviting experience.”
An assessment of the overall golf experience, the Top 50 Private Courses accolade considers several variables – from the quality and condition of the course, to the food and dining offered, to the overall value provided to the golfer – that make a golf facility enjoyable. The Ridge at Back Brook finished eighth on the overall list.
The Golf World Readers’ Choice Awards are based solely on reader input gathered via an online poll conducted in 2008 and 2009. For a facility to be ranked, it must have received a minimum number of reader evaluations. Readers graded facilities based on various criteria using a 10-point scale and Golf World plugged those numbers into a formula.
In the golf, resort and hotel industries, Tom Hoch Design is retained by leading brands such as The Ritz-Carlton, Marriott, Honours Golf, Landmark Land Company and Southworth Development to design amenities and revenue centers that complement exterior architecture and are fully-integrated into the site’s masterplan.
Recent U.S. and internationally-based projects include: The Ritz-Carlton Members’ Club Dove Mountain (Arizona), Farm Links Golf Club (Alabama); The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club at Sarasota (Florida); Renaissance Golf Club (Massachusetts); TPC Valencia (California); and the Tulsa Country Club (Oklahoma); several projects with Troon Golf, Apes Hill Club (Barbados); and The Abaco Club (Bahamas).
Unique to the club industry, the Tom Hoch team possesses top-of-the-line talent and expertise necessary to conceive, program, design, detail, budget and outfit a club in a successful manner.
